Heating Funds available for

Bethel Residents

White Lake – The Bethel Local Development Corporation (BLDC) has announced there still is funding available for Bethel residents who are in need of heating assistance.  This effort was initiated by a group of Bethel residents and is fully funded by private citizen donations.  The program is named Citizens’ Energy Assistance Program (CEAP).  “We are concerned for the well-being of our residents and this is one thing we can do to help our neighbors during these difficult times,” said Town Supervisor Daniel Sturm.  The program will provide a one-time supplement for heating needs to qualifying Bethel residents.  The guidelines have been revised to remove the requirement of the HEAP denial letter to allow for more assistance.  Proof of income for all household members and proof of Bethel residency are still required.

Applications are currently being accepted and are available through the Town of Bethel website at www.town.bethel.ny.us or can be picked up at the Bethel Town Hall, 3454 Route 55, White Lake.  Mail completed application and supporting documentation to BLDC, Attn:  CEAP, P.O. Box 300, White Lake, NY 12786 or drop-off at Town Hall.  Applications will be confidentially reviewed by the CEAP program administrators.  Supervisor Sturm will arrange for the assistance to qualified applicants.

It’s My Divorce Too!

Our Voice is pleased to announce the arrival of Marina Lombardi’s long awaited book.  Guided by the voice of a young girl, the impact that one decision has on an entire family becomes unmistakably clear.  There have been many books written by adult experts about divorce and its impact on children.  However, ten year old Marina Lombardi set out to express this impact from a child’s perspective after a limb on her family tree broke off.  Now, as a young woman six years later, she knows with certainty the importance of sharing her story and letting other kids know that they can prevail in the rough waters of their upbringing.  To order the book or to find out more information log-on at http://itsmydivorcetoo.blogspot.com/
