Zumba
Zumba classes to begin on Wednesday July 7th.  Will be held at the Dr. Duggan School, Rt 55 - White Lake, NY Every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning. 
Wednesday evening 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm and Saturday morning 10 am - 11:00 am
Must be at least 18 or older to participate $12.00 per class
$100.00 for a 10-class package (can also be used for classes at the Janice Center)
$70.00 per month for unlimited classes (can also be used for classes at the Janice Center)

Yoga Classes - every Monday evening - 5:45 pm - 7:15 pm beginning July 12th

Will be held at the Dr. Duggan School, Rt 55 - White Lake, NY

6 week program - $60.00 due at registration. Individual classes $15.00 per week.

Taekwondo ClassesTuesday evenings at the Duggan School Gym

Class times are:  6:15 to 7:15 PM (beginners in Grades Pre-K to 5 and adults) or 7:30 to 8:30 PM (advanced elementary students, teens and adults).  Classes are taught by certified instructor, Mike McCauley.    

Summer Session 1 – May 18th – June 15th (4 sessions) $20 (no class 6/1)

Summer Session 2 – July 6th – August 24th (8 sessions) $40

 

Infant, Toddler & Preschool Aquatics Program (IPAP)
This is a water adjustment program designed by the American Red Cross.  It requires both the parent and the child to be in the water together.  The proper holding techniques and beginning swim skills will be taught.  3 Half-hour sessions will be held on Saturday mornings as follows:  July 10th, July 17th, July 24th     Rain date:  July 31st.  Children ages 18 months to 5 years:     10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Children ages 6 months to 18 months:  10:30 AM to 11:00 AM Cost:  $15 per child
 

Annual Family Amusement Park Bus Trip – Thursday, July 29th

Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, Allentown, PA

            Coach buses will leave Duggan parking lot at 7:00 AM to arrive at Dorney at 10 AM.  Buses will leave Dorney Park at 7 PM to arrive in White Lake by 10 PM.             

Cost:  $42 Town of Bethel Adults and all non-residents regardless of age

                        $32 Town of Bethel Senior Citizens (age 62 and older)

                        $22 Town of Bethel Youth (48 inches and taller in shoes up to age 21)

                        $15 Town of Bethel Youth (age 3 and under 48 inches in shoes)

Payment is due at registration.  The Town of Bethel is subsidizing the cost of the trip for residents.  A tip for the bus driver will be collected the morning of the trip - $2 each adult and $1each youth.
 

Morning Summer Program  - 6 weeks, Monday-Friday during the hours of 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  Begins Monday, July 5th and ends Friday, August 13th.  The activities include Arts & Crafts, Playground, Field games and Sports, Reading and Dramatics, American Red Cross Swim Instruction, Special trips and Theme Days.  The program is held at the Town of Bethel Park on Old White Lake Turnpike off Route 55.  This program is for children who will be attending Kindergarten in the fall of '10 and have completed a Pre-Kindergarten program (proof required) through the age of 12.  Youth age13 may apply to be a volunteer Counselor In Training by completing a job application.  Cost is $40 per child for Town of Bethel Residents and $60 per child for non-residents.
 

 All Day Summer Program - 7 weeks, Monday-Friday during the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.  Activities are inclusive of the morning program as well as free swim times and additional activities.  It is also open to the same age group as the Morning Summer Program.  An afternoon snack is provided; parents must provide lunch for the child and transportation.  Cost is $600 for the first child, $450 for the second child in the family and $350 for the third child (non-residents add $50 more to each of the amounts listed).  An extended drop-off time of 7:30 to 8:30 AM is offered for an additional $100 per child.  The program begins Monday, July 5th and ends Friday, August 20th.  The program is held at the Town of Bethel Park, rain or shine.  Great camper to staff ratio!! Full payment is due by July 1st.  Installments may be made prior to that date.
 

Bethel Youth T-ball and Softball Recreational Program -Wednesday evenings for 6 sessions (weather permitting), starts July 7th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the Town of Bethel Park.  T-Ball ages 4 to 7, softball ages 8 to 12.  Parents are asked to remain on the grounds during the program. No charge.   
 

Bethel Youth Basketball Program - Monday evenings for 6 sessions (weather permitting).  Starts July 6th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.  Ages 7 to 10.  Bethel Park.  Parents are asked to remain on the grounds during the program.  No charge.

Owned and operated by the Town of Bethel.  Newly constructed bathrooms and changing room.  Passes are available at the Pool.  New picnic tables, basketball court, bring your own grill, new Pavilion with kitchen and bathrooms.


Scheduled to open June 26th and closes September 5th for the 2010 Season

Monday-Friday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
Saturday and Sunday 11:00 a.m.  - 7:00 p.m.

 
Pool Rules

Children under 13 must be accompanied by a responsible guardian age 18 or older.  The guardian must be in the pool area when the children under 13 are swimming. Please do not leave your children unattended at park.  Lifeguards are watching swimmers and not the visitors to the park area. No pets allowed.


 

The fees are as follows:

                   Children ages 5 to 12                 $2.00/person

                   Children under 5                          No Fee Charged


Season Passes are available at the following rates:

                   Individual                                     $30.00

                   Senior Family of 2 (over 55)     $55.00

                   Family of 3                                  $90.00

                   Family of 4                                  $115.00

                             Each additional member $15.00
 

Applications for season passes are available at the Town Park.  See the Park Manager for daily and season passes.  All patrons of the pool and park are expected to follow the rules posted. 

Bethel Town Park Pavilion Rentals

The Bethel Town Park Pavilion will be available for families and organizations to rent. Information and rental forms are available at the Town Park, on the town website under forms or by calling 292-2843, $75.00 Resident; $125.00 Non-Resident.  $100 Refundable Deposit.

Pool Parties $1.00 per child

                        $2.00 per adult (over 21)


Camps $175.00 per week - provide own lifeguard, no more than 50 people - need certificate of insurance no more than 4 hours/day.

Monthly "Playdays" - scheduled at the Senior Club meetings

Parks

State Boat Launch - located on Route 55 in Kauneonga Lake which accesses White Lake, a 286-acre motorboat and fishing lake.  Stocked with Sunnies, Brown  Trout, Lake Trout and Bass.  Ice Fishing contests (weather permitting).   Bathrooms only in the summer.

Lake Superior State Park - located on Dr. Duggan Road between Route 17B and Route 55.  (845) 794-300 ext. 3066.  Operated by Sullivan County features swimming, boating and boat rentals, snack shop, showers, bathrooms, fishing and picnic facilities.  Beach operated Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Groups welcome, buses can be accommodated.  (Electric motored boats only).

The Arthur N. Smallwood and Ruth Smallwood Park located at Minnie Falls - Mountain Lakes Road and Mohawk Trail.  Site of Mr. A. N. and Ruth Smallwood's mausoleum, founders of Smallwood.  No facilities.  Walking paths, and small waterfall.

Dr. Duggan Memorial Park - located at Route 17B and Gale Road in Mongaup Valley.  No facilities.  Small area of gardens, walking paths, and monument dedicated to Dr. Cornelius Duggan, Health Officer and physician of the Town for many years.

Smallwood Beach - owned and operated by the Civic Association of Smallwood.  Membership required.  Lifeguards, snack shop, playground and picnic area.

Smallwood Community Club - Located on Sgt. Andrew Brucher Road in Smallwood.  Membership required.  Outdoor heated pool and nightly  summer activities.

Smallwood Community Park - owned and operated by the Civic Association of Smallwood.  Pine Grove Road, 2 miles off Route 17B.  Basketball courts, wall ball, playground, tennis courts, park setting, pavilion, ball field. 

Mongaup Pond
- located 10 miles NE of Livingston Manor in DeBruce.  At the foot of the entrance is the State Fish Hatchery open to the public.  Mongaup Pond has row boats, canoes, paddle boats, fishing, campground, snack shop, bathroom, showers, picnic areas, snowmobile trails.  1- (800) 456-CAMP

Eldred Preserve - located on Route 55 South.  Sporting Clay Complex.  Three stocked trout ponds, two bass lakes with boat rentals.  Restaurant, bathrooms.  Pay by the pound for fish caught. 1-800-557-FISH.

Catskill Fly Fishing Museum - located on Old Route 17, Livingston Manor.  Award-winning museum that offers exciting interpretative displays.  Borders the Willowemoc Creek.  Visitors Center and gift shop.  Environmental weekends for kids in summer, guest fly tiers on Saturdays, Seminars and workshops.  Call (845) 439-4810.

Delaware River - rafting, tubing, canoeing, kayaking.  Eagle watching.  Historic bridges.  Can be explored from the New York side and the Pennsylvania side of the river.
